We're in China!

So here's the story of how my first day in China went...

We got to the Beijing airport around 11:30, and we were supposed to check our luggage in a luggage locker and then take a couple cabs to our hostel.

Turns out, even if things are labeled "24 hour service" in China, what it really means is, "Chinese people really value their sleep and it's considered rude to wake them up, so GO AWAY UNTIL WE'RE NOT TIRED ANYMORE.".

So we ended up pulling an all nighter in the airport because no one would wake up to help us figure out what to do with our luggage. So I've had a lot of coffee and 18 cent vending machine beer (not as bad as it sounds) and we're waiting to meet Kirk at 4:30PM here.

WELCOME TO CHINA, MEREDITH!
